BIO: Kenny Lord became a Crown Ward with the Toronto Children’s Aid Society at about 2 years of age and also lived in Foster homes. At about 5 years of age he went through International Adoption and was Adopted from Canada to a family in Jamaica. At 16 years of age he returned to Canada on his own and graduated from high school in London, Ontario. He then returned to Toronto and went to George Brown College and eventually graduated from the 3 year ‘Watchmaking’ programme. After graduating from College, Kenny worked for Birks Jewellers as a Watchmaker. After about 3 years, Kenny had a change of heart and entered into the Security field. He returned to College and enrolled at Seneca College in Toronto, where he eventually graduated from the ‘Police Science’ programme. After about 8 years in the Security field, he was fortunate enough to be hired by the Toronto Police Service as a Cadet, where he eventually graduated from the Ontario Police College and was then sworn in as a Police Officer by Toronto Police, where he served for about 27 years before retiring on June 1st 2016. He also received the ‘Police Exemplary Service Medal’ prior to retirement and a Civilian Citation from Toronto Police, prior to becoming a Police Officer.

Kenny has also been an instructor in the education field. He was an Instructor at the Toronto Police College for about 3 years, as well as a part time Professor at Durham College in Oshawa, in the ‘Law And Security Administration’ section (L.A.S.A.) He is also the Author of 4 Books of Poetry and is a member of the Writers Community of Durham Region and Spirit Of The Hills – Northumberland Hills Arts Association.

Kenny is also an active volunteer with the Art Gallery of Ontario as an ‘Information Guide’ and also the Children’s Aid Foundation and the Adoption Council of Ontario. He has also been a volunteer with the ‘Variety Telethon’ for several years.
